Christina Fasse, Psy.D.

Dr Christina FasseDr. Christina Fasse is a licensed psychologist with over 25 years of experience in clinical practice.  She received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 1999.  Dr. Fasse sees clients at HPM on a part-time basis, and provides individual therapy for children as young as 8, as well as adolescents and adults of all ages.  Her approach to treatment integrates a variety of modalities, including CBT, mindfulness-based therapies, solution-oriented, and person-centered approaches.  She is passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults who are suffering from anxiety disorders (including OCD), depression, adjustment issues (such as family conflict, divorce/blended families, transition to adulthood), LGBTQI identity issues, and trauma-related issues.  Dr. Fasse is certified in the use of Mindfulness & Compassion in Psychotherapy, and is also a certified Domestic Violence Counselor. 

Prior to going into private practice in 2003, Dr. Fasse worked with many children, youth, and adults at a variety of organizations in California.  As the Staff Psychologist at the inpatient unit of STARS Adolescent Center in San Leandro, Dr. Fasse provided care within a multidisciplinary team, for youth who were hospitalized for psychosis, or being a danger to themselves or others.  Dr. Fasse also worked with teens in a residential drug treatment facility, Daytop Village, in Redwood City, providing both group and individual psychotherapy.  She was the staff therapist at the Erikson School in San Francisco, an alternative school for middle and high school students suffering from mental and behavioral health issues.  Dr. Fasse also provided clinical services for clients at the Victims of Crime Compensation Program at LaCheim Children & Family Services of Oakland.  Dr. Fasse completed her clinical internship at The Sullivan Center for Children & Families in Fresno, where she administered psychological assessments, and provided group, individual & family therapy for all ages of clients. 

After living in California for over 20 years, Dr. Fasse has recently moved back to Maine, where she spent most of her childhood, in order to be closer to family.  In her free-time, she enjoys swimming, kayaking, hiking, writing poetry, meditation, being present in nature, as well as live music, theater & film.  She has been practicing mindfulness, meditation, and qi gong for over 10 years and has completed an MBSR Teacher Training Foundations course.
