Dr. Holcomb’s Primary Specialty Areas:
- Treatment for increased coping with cancer and other life-threatening and chronic illnesses
- Evidence-based, cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) of anxiety disorders
- Consultation about psychotropic medication options (in combination with therapy), when appropriate
- Psychological/behavioral evaluations for bariatric (weight loss) and organ transplant surgeries
Dr. Holcomb’s Educational Background:
- Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (2001)
- Internship in Health Psychology at the Louis Stokes Cleveland Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center
- Postdoctoral fellowship at Dartmouth Medical School in Behavioral Medicine, with emphasis in integration of psychology and primary care medicine, and in pain management
- Postdoctoral Masters Degree (MS) in Clinical Psychopharmacology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology (2005)
