Dr. Faigin specializes in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and adjustment to major life transitions. She utilizes evidence-based treatments, such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), spiritually integrated psychotherapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Dr. Faigin received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University in Ohio, completed her internship at Hines VA Medical Center in Illinois, and completed her residency at VA Maine Healthcare System in Augusta, specializing in the treatment of PTSD and other trauma-related disorders. Dr. Faigin has lectured and co-authored book chapters and articles on the topic of spirituality and psychological wellness, including a recent publication in the book Meditation and Psychotherapy: Cultivating Compassion and Wisdom. In 2009, she was awarded a grant from the John Templeton Foundation and UCLA to investigate the link between spiritual struggles and substance use in college students across the nation. Dr. Faigin is currently an active contributor to the U.S. Army’s Comprehensive Soldier Fitness Program: Spiritual Resilience Initiative, which is being administered to U.S. Army soldiers. She also enjoys hiking, canoeing, and exploring the beautiful lakes of Maine.
